For more than 60 years Blue Shield of California has provided Californians with quality health insurance plans for their families.  Today the tradition continues.  Blue Shield of California currently offers 10 health plans to choose from.  Five PPO Plans called Shield Spectrum PPO, 2 Active Start Plans, the Active Start 25 and the Active Start 35, Access+ HMO and 2 Shield Spectrum PPO Savings Plans (MSA eligible).  These plans are structured to include more cost effective sharing with their members.  In short this means that members who use more services or more expensive healthcare providers will be responsible for a larger portion of the costs.

Blue Shield offers Optional Coverage's such as Term Life Insurance and two dental plans to choose from.  If you are the primary applicant and are approved for health coverage, then you also qualify for CPIC Life's Individual Term Life Insurance plan at an additional charge.  You may also add optional dental coverage and you have a choice of either the Blue Shield Dental PPO or the Blue Shield Dental HMO.
