There are times in ones life where the need for Short Term Coverage provides a perfect solution for those in between times. Are you changing jobs, graduating from school, waiting for permanent coverage to begin or traveling. These plans help fill gaps in coverage for individuals and their families in times of uncertainty. It is important to note that Short Term Plans are not designed to replace permanent coverage. There are two types of short term plans now available from Assurant Health to California Residents.

Single Pay Short Term Plans: (Assurant Health)

• Choose the duration of coverage from 30 - 185 days
• Choose deductible amount $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000
• Prescription drug coverage (after your deductible has been met)
• After you meet your deductible, the plan pays 80 percent of allowable amount of the first $5,000 of covered services, and 100 percent of allowable amount for covered services in excess of $5,000.
• Have the security of a high, $2 million maximum benfit per policy term

Monthly Payment Plan: (Assurant Health Twelve Month Plan)

• Continuous coverage from month to month up to 12 months, with monthly billing
• Coverage may begin the day after your application is submitted (when approved), or a future effective date specified within 45 days.
• Enjoy valuable prescription drug coverage (after your deductible has been met)
• Receive care from your choice of physicians
• Have coverage while you travel outside your home state, with reimbursement

Flexibility to Fit You Needs and Budget...

Assurant Health provides you with the choice of four deductibles and the ability to choose your Coinsurance percentages. With Coinsurance percentage options of 100/0%, 80/20%, and 50/50% you can taylor your short term plan to better suit your individual needs. Remember - Short Term Medical insurance is designed to protect you in the event of an unexpected illness or injury. Because of this, preventive care, physicals, immunizations, dental or eye care are not covered.
